Weather in Salvador

Being further north than Rio, temperatures in Salvador are generally higher, and rarely outside 28°C (82°F). With a cooling tropical breeze and low humidity it's not stifling and quite pleasant year round.

The rainy season, from about April to July, still sees some gorgeous days, but occasional rainy ones and cold nights. Daytime temperatures at this time remain well above 20°C (68°F), and even when raining and cloudy, the Bahia sun is very strong and sun block is recommended all the time.

A Salvador holiday is most popular between the summer months of December to March, and peaks during Carnaval (usually held in February). Prices rise at this time and you'll see more crowds, but it is the most festive and fun time of year.  Just remember to book your Salvador pousada and Salvador tour well in advance!
