Salvador will host the second edition of Stock Car, the main category of the Brazilian auto racing. In 2009, the city hosted the first street race in this category and had an audience of more than 35000 people. For this new edition, the circuit provides changes to increase the speed and extend the passing points.
The company that organizes the Stock Car, the "Vicar", confirmed the second edition of the "GP Bahia" to August 15, on the streets of the Administrative Centre. According to the organizers, the Bahia state had a key role on the attraction of this event for the Northeast region. According to the Department of Tourism, the event helped to increase 20% in hotel's occupancy of Salvador and temporary jobs for about three thousand people.
